Battle of Heilsberg

The Battle of Heilsberg is an important event of the Napoleonic spring campaign, which took place on June 10, 1807. The battle was an important element of Napoleon’s war with the Fourth Coalition and the largest Napoleonic battle fought in the field in today’s Poland. The battle reconstruction takes place each year in June. A camp and a historical market are created at the site of the reconstruction. The festival is accompanied by artistic and educational events. Participants have the chance to travel back to the beginning of the 19th century and feel like a soldier of the Napoleonic era while visiting a military camp and a battle show. The camp is accompanied by craft stands, and before the main reconstruction, viewers can watch a historical drill show. The main attraction of the festival is the reconstruction of the battle. On specially prepared fields, reconstructors in various formations clash: infantry, cavalry and artillery.
