TOSTABUR – Society of Ancient Martial Arts and Crafts

TOSTABUR  was founded in 1964 mainly by sports fencers of TJ Lokomotiva Bratislava. It was a group of enthusiasts about historical fencing, and their soul was the fencing master Ing. Peter Koza.  We are fascinated by history and motivated by the romance of bygone times. In stage form, we try to convey the stories of heroes – warriors, knights or swordsmen – to the layman and professional audience as publicly as possible. For more than half a century of existence of TOSTABUR, we have portrayed many historical periods: ancient Egypt, ancient Rome, early to late Middle Ages, Renaissance, Baroque, the period of Turkish invasions of Hungary, Rococo up to the 19th century. The scope of our offer is wide – from intimate lectures on various historical topics to smaller or larger fencing, dance or fire shows, to spectacular knightly tournaments with a rich cast.
