Nov 30, 2021

We invite all lovers of marzipan for a cultural and culinary trade in the former Prussia. The book presents the history and popularity of marzipan in Europe and describe how marzipan came to the Baltic Sea region. For example, it is known that marzipan appears on the tables of German nobles  in the beginning of the XVI century. Marzipan was also one of the dishes served on the  wedding day of Albrecht of Brandenburg, the first Great Duke of Prussia, and the Dutch princess Dorothea in June 1526. In XIX century marzipan became popular desserts in confectionary cafes of the former Prussia. The book also contains various recipes for preparing marzipan.
