On 13 – 18 September 2021 the first study tour for 3 Russian journalists of the leading travel publications in the frame of the Project’s activities took place. Walking tour of the medieval town, former Gerdauen, (now Zheleznodorozhny) took them into the past, where they met with the most interesting architecture, partially preserved from the Middle Ages. There was also an excursion to Sovetsk, the legendary Tilsit – a kind of educational journey into the distant past. They visited the city where the famous Tilsit Peace was signed in 1807, the “Tilsit” cheese was first made and the “Brandy Alexander” cocktail was invented. An excursion to the Neman introduced the amazing history of Teutonic past of Ragnit.
